Was wondering, is there any such planning already taking place for 2da files at this time?

I am coordinating a Custom Content package for a persistent world project. I’ve just come to realize the potential dangers of not using an adequate amount of buffer space within merged 2da files. In particular, the placebles.2da.

So I want to remake our merged 2da files. It was suggested to me that I use a buffer of nine times the size that OEI has already used in most 2da files, so within the new placeables.2da merged file, I had planned on starting at row 20001.

However, the possibility of a NWN2 CEP is making me think twice. If one ever does come out (which we strongly anticipate one will), we’d want to be able to use it, without having to rework our maps, or even create new blueprints for anything we used which might have been left out of the CEP.

So, before proceeding, I thought it’d be best if I attempt to find out if a CEP team is starting to form. If so, it is most likely that they have already considered this exact same issue (probably most have already integrated considerable custom content within their own pw projects). Considering this issue, perhaps they have already planned/designated which rows they will use within some of the 2da files. And if they did, it’d be most beneficial if they could commit to that spec now, and announce it to the community, so that pw developers can better forecast which 2da rows they can use, minimizing potential for huge rework in future patches and CEP releases.

Your comments are appreciated, thanks,
