Talk:Multiclass penalty
From NWN2Wiki
Neverwinter Nights had a -20% XP multiclass penalty only, but never a -40% XP multiclass penalty if all classes in a triclassing were uneven.
Huh? I thought NWN had up to 40% penalty. You sure? -- Alec Usticke 09:19, 28 December 2005 (PST)
yes, i'm sure, because the 40% is not stated in the manual and never happened in nwn; is the manual counted as copyrighted? if not, then i can show the evidence here.--Der Unbekannte 13:43, 28 December 2005 (PST)
- sorry, but that's very wrong. Just tested with an elf bard/barb/druid... 40% xp penalty kicked in.--Defunc7 14:24, 28 December 2005 (PST)
- lol i wanted to correct that now and show with a manual excerpt that there is --Der Unbekannte 14:28, 28 December 2005 (PST)
[edit] Human, and prestige class is the highest...
Can a prestege class count as a human's highest class level for the purposes of calculating the XP penalty?
For example, would a 4 Fighter / 1 Bard / 6 Red Dragon Diciple take an XP penalty?
- I recall that prestige classes never count towards any multiclassing penalties of any kind, its not in the current wiki however so it might be worth checking on some forums or the in-game descriptions. In your example, therefore, there would be no penalty. - Jasperre 16:50, 11 March 2007 (PDT)
- In NWN1, there was a bug that used the PrC as the highest class, but BioWare fixed it in a patch. I'm not sure how that impacts NWN2. -- Alec Usticke 00:48, 12 March 2007 (PDT)
