Talk:Able Learner

From NWN2Wiki

[edit] Bug in 1.06 ?

The description seems to be contradicting to the game: Able learner does change the maximum number of points you can spend on a cross-class skill, if it is a class skill of another class you have. For instance, a Bard (1) Fighter (19) can spend 23 points on Use Magic device. Perhaps the cap for cross-class skills is generally broken, if it is a class skill of another class you have, but the description doesn't sound like that. -- TheHappyEater 07:51, 22 July 2007 (PDT)

I had a similar experience but I'm not sure whether its due to Able Learner or just in general. Might test that when I get back from vacation in 2 weeks time. For me, it was my wizard who multiclassed to Eldritch Knight and she was able to keep investing max points in a wizard class skill that is not an Eldritch Knight class skill. Indeed, this issue doesn't depend on Able Learner. I tried with a training module the aforementioned Bard-Fighter combination without Able Learner. Still, he has 23 ranks in Use Magic device.

I don't know how the actual DnD rules are, concerning cross-class skills. Are the real rules as player-friendly as they are in NWN2?

I stumbled on this under the name alble learner bug, so I thought it had something to do with this feat. :-) --TheHappyEater 16:58, 22 July 2007 (PDT)

I'm not very versed in official AD&D rules as I play other PnP games usually. So I couldn't tell you whether this is intended or a bug. Considering the way it was in NWN1 though, I'd probably consider it the latter. GhostNWN 22:22, 22 July 2007 (PDT)
