Massive damage

From NWN2Wiki

Players Handbook The information on this page includes speculation of what will be included in NWN2. It derives from Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 rules from the SRD or other sources, but Obsidian may change the actual implementation in the game.

Massive damage is at least 50 points of damage resulting from a single attack.

If a character sustain damage so massive that a single attack deals 50 points of damage or more and it doesn't kill them outright, then they must make a DC 15 fortitude save. If the saving throw fails, they die regardless of their current hit points. This amount of damage represents a single trauma so major that it has a chance to kill even the toughest creature.

[edit] Pre-release notes

  • It has not yet been revealed whether the massive damage rule will be included in NWN2.

Updated, since its been 2 years. No there is no massive damage rule in NWN2 or any of its expansions.

[edit] NWN comparison

  • NWN1 originally included the massive damage rule, but it was removed when the Hordes of the Underdark expansion introduced epic levels.
