Providing only slightly better protection than padded armor, leather armor consists of a combination of cloth and soft leather to provide a stronger barrier against penetration, while being flexible enough to allow a good range of movement.
The breastplate and shoulder protectors of leather armor are made of leather that has been stiffened by boiling in oil. The rest of the armor is made of softer and more flexible leather.
