FRWiki has an article about:
Human ethnicities: Calishite, Chondathan, Damaran, Mulan, Illuskan, Rashemi, Tethyrian

Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest mean they are very physically diverse as well. Skin shades range from nearly black to very pale, hair from black to blond, and facial hair (for men) from sparse to thick. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Size: Medium

Favored class: Any. When determining whether a multiclass human suffers an XP penalty, his highest-level class does not count.

[edit] Gameplay Notes

The favored class ability is generally considered the biggest bonus of the human, useful for multi-classing into some specialized base class with no penalty.

The broad adaptability of humans makes them the basic recommended class should a player be unsure of which to choose.

[edit] DnD 3.5 comparison

  • Humans have a large number of slight variations depending on the region they come from (some of the major human races are shown in the image on this page). The only real effect this has is choice of regional feats (see background traits), languages and slight differences on class preferences and appearances.
  • Neither NWN or NWN2 includes language abilities.
