Dungeons & Dragons GithyankiEdit
In the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, the githyanki, or the Children of Gith, are a humanoid race living in the Astral Plane descended from the escaped thralls that overthrew the planes-spanning empire of the Illithids thousands of years ago under the leadership of a female rebel named Gith. The Githyanki have been ruled by the Lich Queen Vlaakith CLVII (named for the adviser of Gith), a corrupt and paranoid undead wizard, for over a thousand years.
Dwelling in the timeless Astral Plane, the Githyanki inhabit numerous fortresses constructed from materials imported to the Astral Plane as well as cities built atop god-isles, the vast stone corpses of deceased gods. Their capital and largest city, Tu'narath, is built on the god-isle of a deceased power known only as "The One in the Void".
Bred from the beginning of their history to hate the illithids and any form of slavery or tyranny, githyanki are a race of warriors, excelling at swordplay and the creation of ornate armour and weapons. They have great enmity with the githzerai, who seperated from the other forerunners in support of Zerthimon's teachings.
Githyanki in Neverwinter Nights 2 Official CampaignEdit
The Silver Sword of Gith, an important githyanki artifact, exploded across the planes during the First Battle of West Harbor, in the duel between the King of Shadows and the warlock Ammon Jerro. One shard was embedded in the chest of the player when he/she was a baby.
The githyanki sword stalkers now seek to retrieve the shard at all costs.
Githyanki in NwN2 are considered Outsiders in the toolset, as such they should be able to be turned if you select the Evil Domain. I am currently in the process of testing this by using it in conjunction with the Sun Domain. Mictlantecuhtli 11:11, October 1, 2009 (UTC)
