Description[]
A pillar of flame engulfs all within the area of effect, inflicting 1d6 points of damage per caster level (to a maximum of 15d6). Half of the damage caused by the spell is divine and the other half is fire-based. Enemies are struck by both damage types, while allies are struck only by the fire damage.
Gameplay notes[]
As of v1.23 of the game (if not earlier) divine damage from this spell affects all creatures in the target area, including allies. Judging by the script and it's internal commentary, it is purposeful change, not a bug.
Description of this spell make is sound like Flame Strike forces victims to make one Reflex save and then splits resulting damage into fire and divine halves. In reality it actually first split the damage, than forces victims to make separate Reflex saves against fire and divine parts. Both saves sometimes use the same roll but apply fire/divine saving throw bonuses (if present) separately. It is unclear if this is intended behavior or not but it looks rather unnatural.
