This is one of my favourite builds. That was just a try to maximise armor class of a hero.

So you can see the result. I ended the Official campaign with 70+ AC, and planed to have 85+ AC to the end of MotB. But the game steal some of my AC bonuses, so i've seen just 82AC

Pros

  • Extremely high AC
  • Good AB (buffed)
  • Excellent onehanded damage output
  • Flexible in creation and progression (you can have a diplomat or a pvp melee build)

Cons

  • Low number of attacks (one handed with shield)
  • Rely on buffs (and they are very tedious)
  • Much weaker after dispel useful spells
  • Should be Evil till the end

You should mention that +9 items are not so easy to gain in campaign, so the character was made to use +8 items. That is why you see even numbers in the table.

Character Progression[]

You can easyly change this table, cause progression is very flexible. You can take fighter feats instead of spellcaster feats (for example Cleave and Great Cleave). It still can become ridiculously hard to hit with cleric and bard buffs

Some notes[]

Look at the calculation of AC to the end of official campaign:

10 base + 2 tumble + 8 armor from full plate + 5 armor ench + 3 dex (mithril full plate) + 5 natural armor + 5 dodge (boots of sun soul) + 4 deflection + 2 bard insp + 2 rdd + 2 shield + 4 shield ench + 9 divine shield + 1 luck + 2 boneskin from PM + 1 haste + 3 recitation = 68AC by selfbuffing. When use allies receive +9 from tortoise shell (+4 to your 5 natural and +5 from bard (+3 to your 2 bard insp).

With MotB you can add:

+1 to tumble + 3 to enchant armor + 4 to deflection bonus +2 to RDD +2 to Pale Master +4 to shield enchant + 3 to divine shield + 1 from armor skin + 3 from combat expertise +3 from tortoise shall from Gann (some versions). And -3 to bard inspiration (cause there is no bard NPC).

Some words about skills.

I prefer diplomacy in official campaign (15+), tumble (30), umd (20+), concentration (33) and spellcraft (30). Also need 8 lore to qualify to RDD. Tumble and umd are taken at bard levels not to spend additional points for nonclass skills.
