NWN2 Class KnowledgeEdit

Type of Feat: Class

Prerequisite: Bard level 1, Harper Agent level 1.

Specifics: This feat allows the character to identify items more easily than others. It grants the character a bonus equal to their bard or harper agent level to any Lore checks. Use: Automatic.

Bardic Knowledge description Edit

A bard picks up a lot of stray knowledge while wandering the land and learning stories from other bards. Whenever a bard makes a Lore check, he adds his bard level to the result.

Harper Knowledge description Edit

Like a bard, a Harper agent has a knack for picking up odds and ends of knowledge. This ability works exactly like the bardic knowledge ability of the bard class. If a Harper agent has bard levels, the character's Harper agent levels and bard levels stack for bardic knowledge.

3.5 Class KnowledgeEdit

A character with this feature may make a special class knowledge check with a bonus equal to his class level, of the class which provide this feature, + his intelligence modifier to see whether he knows some relevant information about local notable people, legendary items, or noteworthy places. (If the character has 5 or more ranks in knowledge (history), he gains a +2 bonus on this check.)

A successful class knowledge check will not reveal the powers of a magic item but may give a hint as to its general function. A character may not take 10 or take 20 on this check; this sort of knowledge is essentially random.

If a character gains this ability from more than one class, the total class levels stack for the purpose.

Pre-release notesEdit

  • Knowledge skills are not in NWN2. The collective lore skill will be used instead, though without the specific skill synergies.

NWN ComparisonEdit

  • NWN characters gained a bonus to their lore skill equal to the levels in their classes which provided this feature.
