Technically this stacks, since the spell's script doesn't check for existing appliances of it.
Useful if you really need to hear for a creature which is in stealth mode, but otherwise the applications are limited, especially with its very short duration.
It doesn't help a bard's singing or the bard songs effects, even though it is a bard-only spell.
